Monisha Muliyil

Provisional Psychologist

Monisha is a Provisional Psychologist at our Eight Mile Plains Clinic. She has over seven years of experience in Bangalore, India, as a special educator and assistant professor. Her work includes developing Individualised Education Plans for neurodivergent children, conducting inclusion-focused workshops, and teaching Psychology at university. She has also taught Positive Psychology at Griffith University, Mount Gravatt. Holding a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, her doctoral research led to the development of an educational intervention that significantly improved attention and working memory in primary school children.

She is passionate about spreading mental health awareness and enjoys working with clients across the lifespan. She is a firm believer that every client deserves to feel heard, valued and validated. She is naturally compassionate and uses a client centered approach wherein she creates a safe place for clients to be their authentic selves and facilitates sessions that will enable each client to build emotional intelligence and take independent decisions.

Monisha is passionate about working with clients with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma and emotional regulation. She has experience and training in Autism, ADHD
and cognitive assessments and therapy and family therapy. She believes in customising a therapeutic approach based on the individual clients needs and goals
and has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), music therapy and mindfulness based cognitive
therapy.
Monisha enjoys playing the piano, singing, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and creating educational content.
